Yes. I took a weekend workshop with him and he said he preferred the synthetics simply because they were not as subject to changes in sound due to heat, humidity, etc. as synthetics. He also had his own line through Remo.

This is good example of technique being simply a tool for creative expression. This solo has emotional content - I found it moving which is not something you can say of many drum solos :) So many people have taken inspiration from Glen - frame drummers all over the world - that it is sometimes easy to forget what a great player he is. Great stuff.
