Cont. But because many of us want to be accepted by whites we knowingly forsake our blackness and pride in ourselves all for the sake of forgiving a white musician who happens to perform black music.
What is wrong with being PRO BLACK?!?! People act as if they are ashamed of being pro black and not being accepted by the community at large. Stand up for your race and for what is right. Every other race has their own agenda in mine why can't we. An injustice here is an injustice everywhere!Peace

This stems from the fact that America today still has a hard time dealing with race issues and having an honest dialogue about race in this question. So because we are scared to admit it, we simply give this man a pass and act as if this is an isolated incident. By letting it go we are psychologically giving him the power to simply use the word and it's insults again.
If this were other races or ethnicity involved they would not have tolerated that in the slightest.

@Kristy424 im a black woman and also a huge fan of JM. um the N word just has so much emotion behind it because of the negative ugliness behind it. its just one of those things that the world can never agree about. many blacks dont even like it and dont use it while others do. is it okay to use it? is it wrong to use it? why cant white people say it? why do blacks have the right to use it? its just really exhausting and even tho i use it with my friends its really hard to explain why

@catcherinred im a fan. i just think he was trying to hard to be cool or funny.

@noahinthewhale he opened his mouth without thinking. he tries to be funny and he just needs to work on himself and i'm sure he's done that and is still in the process. I've been a fan for about 4 years and after analyzing this situation for myself i still am a fan. he seems like a cool guy and is a wonderful musician

@noahinthewhale i agree. people i know are suprised i feel this way because im a black woman, but i honestly feel he was trying to damn hard to be funny or witty and clever as he put it. There are plenty of non-racist comedians who say offensive jokes because there is a difference between being racist and just making light of things (IE dave chappelle, lisa lampanelli). john is a white kid from the suburbs of conneticut and was trying to be hip! yes, he was wrong and he needs to watch his mouth. |
